3 Common Diagnostic Traps

IBS becomes the whole answer

Bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, and painful bowel movements overlap. The clue often missed is whether they reliably intensify around menstruation.

Trap 2

PCOS stops the investigation

Irregular cycles or ovarian findings may explain part of the picture, but PCOS does not typically explain severe cyclical pelvic or bowel pain.

Trap 3

Anxiety is treated as the cause

Chronic pain can increase anxiety. That does not make anxiety the cause of recurring, cycle-linked physical symptoms.

Normal ultrasound/imaging rules it out

Sonography or normal ultrasound imaging should only be done by an expert. Basic imaging can easily miss endometriosis.

Routine gynecologist care is enough

A routine gynecologist might undertreat the condition, which brings complications later. Excision specialists are often needed.
